The judging process for the Travel Media Awards.

If you entered the Travel Media Awards 2026, thank you. The entry window is now closed and judging is underway. Here's what happens next.

Every entry is reviewed by a panel of three judges: two senior travel industry executives and a media figure — either an editor, a writer or a broadcaster. No judge reviews a category in which they have a conflict of interest, and no judge sits on the same category two years in a row. This year, at least 25% of the panel are judging the Travel Media Awards for the first time.

Judges read every submission in full. They're looking for originality, depth of knowledge, understanding of the target audience and — above all — work that couldn't have come from anyone else. The shortlist for each category is agreed collectively, not by a single vote.

The shortlist will be announced on 9 September 2026.

The Travel Media Awards 2026 ceremony takes place on Monday 26 October at The Savoy, London. Tickets go on sale on 9 September.
